The Hubbard Fire District is seeking qualified candidates to perform Board Clerk duties. This position requires approximately 20 hours per month.

Salary: $25-28 Hourly

Board Clerk Job Description

This position reports directly to the fire chief and is responsible for assisting in the oversight of the district’s financial operations. Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Semi-monthly QuickBooks payroll processing
  • Quarterly payroll tax reporting
  • PERS reporting and tracking
  • Manage employee benefits
  • New employee onboarding
  • Monthly accounts payable and receivable processing
  • Tracks budget expenditures
  • Prepares monthly board agenda
  • Attends monthly evening board meetings , responsible for recording board minutes
  • Prepares monthly financial reports for board meetings
  • Assists in the preparation of the fire district’s annual budget and presentation; including all state required budget forms and filings
  • Conducts annual audits by working with outside auditing agency
  • Performs additional administrative duties as directed by the fire chief

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proficiency in using Quickbooks and Microsoft Word/Excel – Required
  • Experience with processing payroll and tracking accounts payable and receivable – Required
  • Experience in the preparation of public agency budget reporting forms – Preferred
  • Experience in PERS reporting – Preferred
  • Experience with employee benefits – Preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills – Required
  • Ability to receive verbal instruction and provide accurate and prompt follow-up
